With it’s Westcoast focus you will find a menu featuring the bounty of what BC has to offer with Executive Chef Scott Korzack running the kitchen. The wine list features some BC wines along with flamboyant reds, and zesty whites. On the cocktail side of things the focus is on seasonal and has a beach theme since they are situated in English bay.
My friend and I shared the house bread, the Pain au Lait ($2) with housemade elderflower honey butter; this was followed by the beautiful Grilled Asparagus ($11) with Uni butter, radish, crispy grains, nasturtium. Next was the stunning plate of Smoked Steelhead Trout ($13) with apricot, creme fraiche and buckwheat cracker which was followed by the very good Black Cod a la Plancha ($28) with green tomatoes, grilled cabbage and zucchini. For dessert we indulged with the delicious Flourless Chocolate Cake ($10) with coffee cremeux, spruce tip ice cream, and Meyer lemon.
The room is bright with rows of high-top wooden tables for either sharing with other single folk or for dining with your larger parties. I expect the patio is going to be the hot spot of the place as it overlooks on to English Bay beach. I’m looking forward to return visits to try more of these stunning dishes.
